Jet Fuel Thermal Oxidation

Aviation fuel is tested at operational conditions to test for level of deposits formed. This is very important to assess the performance of aviation turbine fuels. Product that is susceptible to thermal breakdown will have solid particulate matter form that could cause major problems. In this test, the fuel is forced under pressure and temperature across a test screen to watch for the presence of these solids. A change in pressure across the test filter is reported along with a oxidation deposit rating on an aluminum test supply part.
