Description

The lowest liquid temperature at which a test flame cause the vapors to ignite. This test method is appropriate for petroleum products with a flash point below 200F. These values are applicable for contamination detection and shipping and safety regulations. Flash point can indicate the possible presence of highly volatile or flammable materials in non-volatile or flammable materials. This particular method was developed in the inspection of jet fuel, and is part of ASTM D1655 specifications.
