Distillation/Boiling Point

One of the basic and oldest test methods used in the petroleum industry for distillate fuels. The distillation provides information on the composition, properties, and behavior of the fuel during storage and use. It can be considered the most important of all the petroleum testing methods, as the boiling point range governs what type of fuel a sample is. The boiling point range of each fuel is how the crude oil is originally refined and separated.
