Test Equipment

Description
This is the warmest temperature at which the sample starts to form solid material during the freezing process. It is generally thought of as the minimal temperature at which a fuel is workable or not. A sample is placed in a jar and temperature lowered until solid hydrocarbon formation is observed. A modern version of fuel flow properties at reduced temperatures may be observed in considering Cold Filter Plugging Point, ASTM D6371.
Test Standard
ASTM D2500
